1959 MORRIS J2 MESSENGER

DELIVERY VAN

Australian delivered on 31st December 1959

Lucy is a beautiful old girl full of character and charm.

Obviously a real collectors piece and rare as hens teeth…

Use her, show her, restore her or just put her away.

Ideally suited to a collector, for use as

an advertising or promotions vehicle for work, a sporting team or at an outside venue.

Model:                  Morris (BMC) J2 Van
Engine No:                  21893
Chassis No:                  44836
Registration:        Full NSW rego until 20 January 2009
Rego No:                  AK26UI

Engine:        Original 42 hp 1500cc 4 cylinder BMC in great nick – does not use oil, no leaks and runs like a slow train.

Body:                  Finished in beautiful duck egg blue about 6 years ago. Front rear and side entry doors. In excellent condition for 48 years of age with no dents and only some minor rust in passenger side door and spot rust in other areas.

Interior:        Repainted with newly upholstered seats and door trims.

Wheels/Tyres: Original Cross ply white wall tyres with heaps of tread.

The Bad Stuff: No leather, ABS, Sat Nav, electric seats, electric suspension, 19” wheels, reverse cycle air, bluetooth or 16 Speaker sound system! Just some rust repair and TLC needed on paintwork.

Comes complete with:
·      Original delivery record to Mrs Brown of Kew, Victoria on 31st December, 1959 by Lane’s Motors

·      Original stamped log book

·      Detailed service history for 35 years

·      Some spares eg filters and gaskets

·      Numerous receipts for repairs over the years

·      Genuine BMC factory workshop manual

Lucy runs really well for a 48-year-old girl.

She gets along well in today’s city traffic, attracts thousands of admirers but won’t get you a speeding ticket!
