Hello Alex,

Regarding using this message board to obtain an FG, the amount of traffic on this message board is very low, and you might get a better response if you advertised in the wanted sections be it in the clubs quarterly magazine, Heritage Commercial, or Classic & Vintage Commercial.  Be aware that there are scammers out there that will want a deposit for a non-existent vehicle, and then run off with your money. The other option is Ebay.

FG vans are a bit on the thin side. Most are flats or dropsides.  Many members have used an LD ambulance as a camper van.

To advertise in the Wanted section of the clubs magazine, you would need to become a member. A membership form can either be downloaded from this web site, or if you send an email to morriscommercalclub@hotmail.co.uk  I will email you one.

The advantage of joining the club would be that you could make contact with other FG owners.  Member have, or did own around 50 FGs.

I trust this helps.

Hi All,

Has anyone got a FG Van that they no longer want or have the time to bring up to a usable condition?

I don't want to spend too much to buy one (I live in Yorkshire), but would be happy to put the time in to bringing one back to a more than usable condition.

My plan is to build a camper but would take on a flat bed and build a box to house the living area.  I have seen this solution on an event that I help organise in Hull, the East Coast Run and it looks great.  This would be my first step into the Commercial Vehicle Scene and it is something we would want to keep for a good few years after completion of the project.

I hope someone out there can help me as I've managed to sell the idea to the wife after showing her 3 FG Vans at the Driffield Steam Rally today.

I've been looking out for a while now and regretted not looking at the one that was on Gumtree near me recently.

Thanks for looking.
