On page 9, of the GAZETTE, Montreal, 21 Jun 69 there is a picture and story about the Sea Doo and Bombardier's attempt to re-set the long distance record for personal watercraft.

Really cool story.

http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1946&dat=19690621&id=FuUiAAAAIBAJ&sjid=IaEFAAAAIBAJ&pg=2089,4614320

Anyone got or know of any more pictures of this?

Just got an E-Mail in with this attached this picture below.

If someone owns the rights to it, let me know and I'll remove it.  Might be a GAZETTE photo they didn't use in the paper or maybe something out of the "Man and His World" event.

Suppose to be 12 Sea-Doos try the trip.  I only count eight and eight doo'ds wearing those crazy cool jump suits.

Someone here or somebody surfing it has got to know more of this story.

Cool stuff!
Not specifically connected to the long distance article but just yesterday I was watching old footage on YouTube and clicked on this clip from the same poster, the US Sea-Doo dealer debut at Plantation Wharf Marina Fla.
Yellow outfits too but w/ shorts, possible some of the operators could be the same guys?

I found something cool I need help w/ in one of the other clips but will post it later in another thread.

~
