sled runs good at low speed but when at half throttle or more it cuts out then speeds up continuously. seemed like fuel issue so cleaned carb (mikuni) but no change. crankseal or something else? how do I check?

Doesn't sound like a crank seal to me. Every time I've had a bad seal it has only been really noticable at low rpm. Almost impossible to start, engine reving up out of nothing, irregular idle, stuff like that. But at full throttle it'd all be fine (less time per revolution to leak so the leak gets smaller, relatively)

It sounds more like you need a larger main jet. What do your plug and piston look like after it does that? They should be chocolate brown.

I'll have to check plugs. it starts on 1st pull, idles good and doesn't rev itself up. ran good last year, drained fuel tank at the end of season. put in gas this year and it has run this way ever since
