Woke up to a brisk 50F this morning.  Puts a smile on my face!  The smell of cool air gets my blood pumping and the desire to wrench on an old Doo can not be deterred.  Some may say just enjoy summer and stop wishing for the cold so soon since it's still August, but it seems this Summer never really got kicked off.  Weird weather this year and the veggie garden is confirming how odd it has been.  Poor yield and lots of rotting on the vines.  Great apples this year however.

Hope this bodes well for a great snowy season!  Any other predictions out there?

The last couple winters here have been very weak, seems like while I was in Texas this area got hammered and then as soon as I moved back nothing!  I too enjoy the cool mornings and hope the predictions of a snowy winter this year are correct.

Labor Day weekend is my unofficial deadline each year for getting the riders ready. It's still summer here in southern New England but the countdown is now in weeks not months. One brisk fall evening is all it takes to get the spirit up. Nothing worse than scrambling to get ready as the first Nor'easter is moving up the coast.

Humidity is bad here the next few days. Feels like early August again. Must be all the tropical activity that is taking place.
