OKay guys, Took my 1970 335, and 1969(put a 292 in it) out this weekend and put a good 30 miles on each of them, I was really happy. They both ran great....

I put the 292 motor in my 1969 320 sled. nether motor has electric start, so I assume I should be able to wire it up to have my key work, and head light. The 292 wiring looks like someone had there hands in it, there are a few spliced wires. But the wire colors seem to be different. I will get some pictures so I can show you guys. Just hopping you guys might be able to save me some trial and error.

70 and 71 wiring  schematics are here:

I don't have access o 69 data, so can't  comment on specifics.    Usually pretty straightforward on these as only one side of lighting coil is used/routed to the ignition/light switch.  Good luck.

Thanks green and gold.

I went and took a look and did some comparing.
my original 320 motor has 1 black and 1 red/yellow striped wire from motor. Then ether a brown or black wire from ground to connecter and the other 2 the tail light wire. the connector had 1 extra short yellow wire, I assume a ground.

The 292 motor is all loose wires. It has 1 black wire, and 1 green wire out of the motor, Then from the ground has 2 black wires, one is same length as the other wires, I assume that goes to the connector, and the other to the tail light.

The only other difference is the 292 green wire had a red wire spliced into the end.... I assume this is maybe in place to the yellow ground out of the 320 connector.

Basically it looks to be the only variable really is the 292 has a green wire, and the 320 has a red/yellow wire.

If anyone else has a opinion I am all ears.
