Hi folks,

Just wondering what people use for tightening the two nuts to keep the carb attached to the engine? The left hand one is easy to access, but the right is difficult. Certainly there has to be an easy way to do this. I heated up a wrench and bent it, but it is still a bit of a challenge.

Krusty.

I have used a thin, long punch to loosen and tighten the nut.

I have the open end wrench that came with the tool set in my dads 71 elan 250 that I have now. It is bent at a 90 on one end just so you can get on the nut. I have in the past when that right side nut is tough to get off I have taken a little cresent wrench put on to give some leverage. I know what you mean by its tight.

any chance you could post a couple pics of that open end wrench? I should be able to make something up crude with some 12 or 10 GA sheet and my die grinder.
