292 hood?

Ok guy here has a 292 bubblenose hood, that converts into something like a Blizzard hood, I never seen this before, is it original, what year would it be, no grills on side, hopefully the pic will upload, but alas, no

Hi Poidy. Off the cuff it sounds like a 1970.  I have one and it has no side grills. I've never heard of a removable centre section on the hood but that doesn't mean anything. Just my 2 cents worth lol. Maybe a fiberglass mad scientist made it! I would love to see some pictures please. You could email me at rkalter@sympatico.ca

ya found out more info, from Goose, was a mod made just in the states, fella in my town was asking, so go to the experts, some stuff in the USA I have never seen, cool idea back then though, get more air on that Rotax when racin'

There were some aftermarket hoods as well back in the day- Goose said he either has or has SEEN an old Dennis Kirk catalog where you could buy them from.

He has this 335 that has been on a couple of our rides that wears an aftermarket hood from some unknown, probably long gone maker-



If you look closely (come on, we all wear bifocals now...) the center part with the head light is removable.
