I can suggest a team stronger on the track and with a stronger leader in the pits. A team blend of youth and experience. A team destined to win the 2010 Elite League.
1. Hans Andersen 9.15
2. Leon Madsen 4.00
3. Davey Watt 6.94
4. Darcy Ward 4.56
5. Chris Holder 8.76
6. Matej Kus or Artur Mrozcka 4.00
7. Steve Boxall 3.44 or Ben Wilson 3.22
40.85 at the most. However the only snag I can see is that Peterborough will not let us use Hans again - a superb rider, a team rider when the occasion needs it and a strong pits motivator.
|
Hans is in talks with Eastbourne
think that team will leave us weak at reserve again
|
As already stated (3BC will tell me off for repeating myself again! ), Leon will be at reserve with another 4 pointer, Chris and darcy at 1 and 2, with Bjarne and davey at 3 and 5; Doyley at 4; and imo Kus will be the other reserve. You heard it here first (or second....) |

Stan Vatcher has asked me to remind everyone about the general knowledge quiz, to be held in the "CHAMPS" bar on wednesday 25th November. Starting at 7.30.Teams of 4 or thereabouts. As usual all profits will go in to the R.E.F. fund coffers to help the riders next season. Admission is £4 for members, £5 for non members. I am told Matt will anounce the signings of 3 Buccs riders for next season.

Should be a good night
Please ask Nij to forward me the answers, just in case I don't hear the questions
Thank you |

Anyone who wants to see Bjarne back needs to undergo a Mental Health Assessment. It would be a very backward step for the way I see the Poole teanm now starting to take shape. Bjarne is not a team rider i.e. cannot look out for his partner during a race.
|
Count me in as needing such an assessment then. Bjarne is a proven points scorer on a low average. Exactly what a team manager/promoter looks for when signing a rider for the next season. If we don't sign him, then watch him go to another club and clean up adding a point or so onto his average..probably coming back to bite us on the backside in the process provoking comments of 'why did we let him go?' . If the only reason to omit him is his lack of team riding skills, then I'd say there's a fair few other riders out there you exclude from any potential line-up using the same criteria. I get the impression with a lot of the anti-Bjarne comments it's more to do with personal taste than what is actually good for the Pirates - sure he had a duff year, but on the whole he's contributed to our success in the last 9 seasons or so and been a loyal servant to the UK scene, whislt other riders are more favoured and yet more finicky.

Craig is spot on we cant expect Darcy to go out there and be a world beater every meeting he is only 17yr old. We need to put our arm around him and take care of him.
He will be with us a long time so lets not put too much pressure on he lad....go out there mate and have some fun ,,,
|
Boycie is quite right
Having said that, I can't forget Darcy's first race at Wimborne Road, in a "Second Half" race ... He ended up about half a lap ahead, and within ONE second of the times of the prior League match
Some impact
When he does well, cheer him
When he doesn't do quite so well, cheer him TWICE |

With their present averages both Bjarne and Davey would be on any promoters wish list, but thankfully they're our assets and and I can't see any good reason why we would not sign them. Yes, they're both old friends but I not sure they're the "old friend" Matt was talking about. I seem to recall he referred to Sqora as an old friend just before we signed him, and look what a surprise that was. I can't help thinking there's a another surprise coming. Doyley is also an old friend but wouldn't be a surprise, and neither would Troy if Bjarne decided he wanted a year away from UK, But as for a surprise "old friend", Bob the Pole could fit the bill, and could make sense as a strong second string.
