Lost rock carvings near Table Rock?

I was reading over a website devoted to surveying indian petroglyphs, stone carvings, in NC and was curious to learn of a "Lettered Rock" in the area near Table Rock which appears on maps from the 1920s.

Anyone with information is encouraged to get in touch!

Early survey maps of Burke County in the Table Rock area refer to a "Lettered Rock".  Reportedly, this rock has some type of Indian markings on it.  The markings may no longer be present on the rock or a portion of it may have been removed.  We are particularly interested in any historic photos or other information folks may have of Lettered Rock.

Judaculla Rock is in Jackson County, near Cullowhee and Western Carolina University. No where near Table Rock and Linville Gorge.
Here's Lemur's page on Judaculla Rock

Thanks, owlwoman for posting that - knew I had read about it somewhere on here. That's the only rock I've heard of around western NC that has those markings on it.

I know there are a couple of caves in WNC that have petroglyphs in them.  One is supposed to be in Henderson County and owned by local attorney, Sam Neill.
