New to the boards,  and wondering if anyone still checks these.

looking for any info on the Childrens Graveyard by Furman.

My Boss and I are looking into the area and wanted to see if anyone has some info they want to share.

Thanks.

Hi Dale

I don't check these boards here this often so I apologize in being late in responding to your question about the Childrens Graveyard.

About two years ago, I did some investigations with a local paranormal group based in Greenville.  There was one member who swears he did find the Childrens Graveyard.  From the directions, it's really by the Greenville side of Furman and not the TR side of Furman.  Whether this is the actual Childrens Graveyard, I'm not completely sure.  But this group swears it is and I haven't been able to find anyone else in this area who know anything else about this cemetary.

I don't have a map in front of me so I'm going by memory.  If you give me a day or two, I can get  you the street name.  I do know if you are coming down Poinsett Highway towards Furman University, you will come to an exit before the exit for Furman.  That's the exit you want to get off of --- and that's the exit I can't remember the name of the street.  But I do know that there is a McDonalds at that exit.  In fact, when you come off of that exit (if you are coming from Greenville), you turn to the left and go over Poinsett Highway.  The McDonalds and I believe either a police station or a fire station will be on your left.  Somwhere in that immediate area is an unmarked street.  No one at the police/fire station knows the name of this unmarked street --- it's never ever been named (sounds like another good mystery <s>).  This unmarked street is on your right.  Turn on this street but be careful because it is a dead end.  If you go all the way to the end (which is something like a quarter of a mile), you can park you car -- the graveyard is on your right but you will have to walk through the woods just a bit to find it.  Please be aware that the graves in this cemetary are incredibly old and some of the graves have, in fact, been dug up and desecrated.  When I first went out there, I was incredibly saddened by that .  Most of the graves are of children but there are also a large number adult graves as well.

I have never been out there at night and I've never taken any photos.  I do know of a few people who are quite sensitive and have felt things out there.  I'm trying to find the time to get out there with a camera to take pictures.

On the other side of this unmarked street is the remains of what appears to be a house of somesort.  There is a large amount of kudzu growing around --- it would be great if someone could tear it all down --- I'm very curious to see what its covering.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional help !!
