The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa

I am an employee at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa in beautiful Lake Lure, NC.

Poor health had brought Lucius Morse to the Hickory Nut Gorge in the late 1920s. He fell in love with the area and asked his brothers for a loan to buy the land that is Lake Lure. He built a million dollar dam and  flooded out parts of the village to make the actual lake ( which included a cemetary and a little town called Buffalo). He built a grand inn ( for the time) and it was nicknamed the "Little Waldorf of the South".

Some scenes from "Dirty Dancing" was filmed here, and in nearby Chimney Rock, Stephen King's "Firestarter" and "Last of the Mohicans" was filmed.

The inn is filled with eclectic antiques, most notably music boxes that the current owner and his wife enjoy.

It is said, that a woman was was murdered by her husband in room 217 on their wedding night back in the 1930s. She is often seen standing by people while they are in bed. She frightens alot of people this way. She has been heard on EVPs screaming. There is a darker, more sinister entity that seems to inhabit the spa area down in the basement. Several employees ( including myself) have had the unfortunate opportunity coming into contact with it ( we speculate that it's the husband who supposedly killed his wife upstairs in the room). It is very negative and just plain scary when the entity is around down there.

The housekeepers report that TVs turn themselves on and off, that a freshly made bed will have indentions on them as if someone has just sat on the bed, glasses have shattered all by themselves, their names being called.

Several people have also seen the inn's original owner, Mr. Morse, strolling peacefully through the inn.

I was wondering if you guys would ever do an investigation of the inn? It would be neat if you could do a live broadcast (if you got permissions from Mr. George Wittmer).

Everyone come experiece the paranormal happenings at the inn for yourself.
