I saw a ghostlight in Crossett, AR when I was a kid, back around 1967-69. It was late one night that we went looking for it. I remember riding in the car with my parents and 2 other women way out into the middle of nowhere where we got out and stood on railroad tracks where the dirt road crossed over them. It wasn't long until we saw a dim light that looked to be about the size of a basketball hovering above the tracks at approximately the height of a man's head (the story I heard was that an engineer had lost his head in a train wreck and now he goes out looking for it with a ghostly lantern). It appeared to be maybe 75 to 100 yards away. It would grow bright and then dim again until it was gone. Then it would reappear on the other side of the tracks. We were there maybe 30 minutes, during which it disappeared and reappeared several times, back and forth, just to either side (left and right) of the tracks. The women we were with said they had approached the light the night before and it had rushed at them so they ran back. I was told that people in the area were very familiar with this light as it had been around for a long time. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Is it still there or what?

What a great legend to view in real time. Very spooky light's are not for everyone, so for the most part they don't go out at night with great anticipation. I had not been to Arkansas yet and it seems you had a long lost visitor.

Well that first post was good camo for SPAM..using the word.."delete". What a great idea. I will be on the look out for that one over in the UK. I moderate a paranormal website there. I hit the Big X to delete it every time someone sneaks it in. lol

As eerie prophetic lyrics it's chillingly an "Ode to Monsanto's CEO!"
