Wecome to the Outer Court of the Library of Genesis of the Free!

We are a relatively new Kinship, located on the Laurelin (EN-RP) server, co-founded by myself and our original Kin Leader, Kimbreda Akana, both experienced ex-Officers (Cauns) from one of the server's largest Kinships. In game terms, Kimbreda is a Level 60 Hunter and I am a Level 41 Lore-Master and a Supreme Scholar, although we regard enthusiasm, goodwill and a positive attitude, with the wilingness to become involved in the Kinship's activities, and to help (and be helped by) fellow-Members, as being far more important than experience levels, length of time as a player, etc.

The Leadership of the Kinship has recently passed to Kimbreda's son, Lord Kimbrendir, a Minstrel currently in the mid-40s in terms of game level and a very active player, rapidly advancing.

We are a dynamic, fun, helpful and lively mixed-Race Medium-RP Kinship comprising all Races, classes, levels and vocational Trades, with our membership including all levels of experience from 6 to 60, presently concentrated around the level 28-40 range, although growing and changing with each passing day. We are, and intend to remain, a close-knit, friendly, supportive, active Kinship, seeking to gain and keep committed, enthusiastic, goodwilled active Members, rather than simply adding as many names as possible to our Members' List in an attempt to become huge for no reason but for the sake of it. Our Kinship is a genuinely supportive, welcoming group of friendly and enthusiastic players, from reasonably new joiners to veterans, and we offer far more than just a name to wear under your title, or a group to go raiding with occasionally.

Although we are an RP Kinship, and ask that our Kin Chat channel remains In Character, we naturally also have an OOC channel and are not obsessive about RP, nor heavily inclined towards overly-serious Lore-focused activities, while of course retaining as best we can the immersive and exciting spirit and flavour of Lord of the Rings (book, film and game) and Middle-Earth in general, through our lively In Character and equally lively Out Of Character chat channels, as well as the holding of regular RP combat and social events aimed at pleasing and engaging as many of our Kin-Members as possible.

Amongst our combat-based events you will find both RP and OOC expeditions and adventures, ranging from aid with Epic/general Quests and Deed completion to entertaining "for the fun of it" RP and OOC Fellowship campaigns to rid Middle-Earth of as many Worms, Orcs, Trolls, Wargs, Undead and other foul creatures as possible (tailored to suit all levels of combat experience). We are NOT a "raiding" Kinship.

As well as combat-based activity, we like to take advantage of the game's many other facets and features, and so, for those who wish to enjoy the society of a friendly and varied group of travelling-companions, we offer RP social gatherings, both quiet and exhilarating exploration of Middle-Earth's beautiful landscapes, peaceful fishing trips, Crafting evenings (together with an organised Register of Crafters, ensuring that Crafters find a market for their work, while those needing Crafted items know where to look) and, of course, this Forum, largely accessible only by registered Members, with both IC and OOC discussion Boards, a Crafting Board, an Off-Topic Forum and a Members' Artwork Gallery for sharing our in-game screenshots and other interesting LotRO or general images.

If you are interested in joining and contributing to an expanding, lively, fun and pleasant Kinship, and enjoying relaxed and sociable RP, help and support, please either send an email to "admin@genesisofthefree.com" or, preferably, contact one of our Officers in-game: Demelza, Kimbreda, Kimbrendir, Bragnaer, Marshlight, Taemar or Lodos. We ask only for enthusiasm, goodwill and the desire to become a part of a friendly, helpful and active Kinship, where ALL Members (Officers included!) share equal importance and all ideas and contributions are welcomed.

We look forward to hearing from you!

To The Future!

Hey Nell!

I'm still alive. (just)

You'll need to walk this old man through all this THROGOORPH stuff but I' m game.

Understand about the time thing and never thought I would. We have one and another in the pipeline so the time thing is very understandable.

It seems a long way from the old ACOL days and out meeting in the pub on the Goldhawk Road.

Cheers (and a promise to keep in ter touch)

Keith (RC in the other life)

Kin-members, Friends and Allies of Genesis of the Free, many greetings!

Welcome to the Outer Court of our Library. You are only a step away from being able to access our Library's contents, which are, of course, largely kept reserved for the use of our Kin-Members and our Friends and Allies.

If you are a new Kin-member, you should already have been given your Entry Pass ((Username)), and should have received a Letter by Courier ((in-game mail)) explaining how to read and add to the Library's books and documents. However, if that is not the case, please do send a Courier Letter to me, Demelza, in my capacity as the Chief Librarian, or speak to me in our Kin House conversations, and I will rectify the situation immediately, with many apologies for the accidental oversight! I can also be contacted directly from here, via a letter sent to "admin@genesisofthefree.com", although it is probably faster and easier to contact me via our Kin conversations or by Courier Letter.

If you are a Friend or Ally of the Kin, and would like to browse through our various documents, or even write a word or two yourself, please do send a Letter to me ((via in-game mail or via the above email address)) and, once again, I will arrange for your Entry Pass to be given to you.

In either case, for Kin-members OR Friends/Allies, please do NOT register a Username yourself. That is my task, as the Chief Librarian, and, for the sake of keeping a good and organised Library Membership Roster, I will undertake to do so on your behalf. If you contact me, as I would prefer, by Courier Letter, I will, of course, have your correct name, to inscribe upon your Entry Pass; if you choose to contact me from here instead, please let me have your name exactly as it is in Middle-Earth, to avoid any confusion arising.

If you do have your Entry Pass, you will already be able ((via the "Login" button above)) to access not only the publicly available Forums mentioned in the message entitled "Information for All New Visitors", but you will also have the ability to read and write books and documents in additional Library rooms, depending on whether you are a Kin-member, a Friend or an Ally. We very much look forward to meeting all of you in our Meeting-Room, for example, where Kin-members, Friends and Allies alike can freely meet and chat (In Character), and of course a very warm welcome awaits all of our own Kin-members in our Kin House (also In Character) and/or our Off-Topic Room (Out Of Character), wherever you feel the most comfortable!

Please do contact me with any questions or comments. As your Chief Librarian, I am always here, at your service.

To The Future!

Demelza of Lórien

Hey hey, people!! :)

To any of my old friends who may, after all this time, still visit my website and find yourselves here instead of where you expected ... Greetings and Salutations!!

No, you haven't gone mad, and yes, this was the old "Nelldomain.com" Forum ... it's been completely rebuilt from the ground up, and is now the Library (Forum) for use by a Kinship I have founded in LotRO (Lord of the Rings Online), an MMORPG which I play nowadays, whenever I get a break from the kids! :D

And in answer to your next question ... yes, you are all still registered members, although the ancient posts have been removed to free up space, and by the nature of the Forum your access, once your Member status is confirmed, will be limited to the Off-Topic and Art Boards (the first for, er, Off-Topic discussions, the other for Kinship (and non-Kinship) Members to post in-game screenshots as well as other interesting LotR or non-LotR artwork) ... the other Boards would mean little to non-players of LotRO, and do rather require knowledge of, and being a player of, the game, which is why you aren't members of those Boards. Of course, if any of you are by chance also LotRO payers, please do get in touch with me (admin@genesisofthefree.com), since LotRO players who aren't Kinship Members do get access to a further Board which you can't see at present, and non-players also can't see, even once confirmed as Members :) It would be a wonderful coincidence if some of you were players!

It would, in fact, be wonderful to hear from any of you again for any reason ... I will be systematically sending emails to your old addresses as registered here, although chances are, after so long, that most of you will not be using the same email. A great shame.

Still, for any of my good old ACOL friends who happen along ... welcome indeed, and please do let me know you're around, so that I can uprank your status and we can get chatting in Off-Topic and posting some lovely pics in the Gallery! I'd love to hear from any or all of you (OK, so half of you are Keith, but that's always been the case ... heh ;) )

I do hope to hear from at least some of you, and see you back posting here!

Take care, all! :)
Nell ... still raving after all these years!! :D

Welcome to the Library of Genesis of the Free, a Kinship within the MMORPG "Lord of the Rings Online" (LotRO), located on the game's Laurelin (EN-RP) server.

The main purpose of this Forum is to enable Kin-Members, and their Friends and Allies within the game, to freely chat with each other (both In and Out Of Character), to share stories, information and in-game screenshots/other artwork, and to be kept up-to-date about the Kinship's news and forthcoming events.

Having said this, we have two Forums which are openly available to everyone, these being our "Art" Forum, for the sharing of in-game screenshots and/or other artwork which others might find of interest, and our "General" Forum, which contains two Boards: one for the discussion of all things LotRO-related, whether In or Out Of Character, and the other a wide-open Off-Topic Forum, where, within the limits of Internet decency and common courtesy, anything goes. Additional Forums are available to Kin-Members and their Friends and Allies... if that includes you, please see the following post, entitled "For Kin-Members, Friends and Allies", for more information.

If you would like to join our Forum, please first choose a Username and register it using the "Register" button at the top of the page. Pease then send an email to "admin@genesisofthefree.com", stating your chosen Username, and your membership will be confirmed as soon as possible by return of email. You will then be free to post as you please on our Boards. All of our Boards are monitored on a daily basis and, it goes without saying, any posts which are deliberately offensive, unnecessarily profane, or otherwise malicious, will be removed.

If you are a potential new Kin-Member of Genesis of the Free, please see the additional post within this Board, entitled "For Potential New Kin-Members". If you are intending to join our Kinship, please do not go ahead and register your Username yourself, but instead please contact me, Demelza, preferably in-game (either by Instant Message or using the game's Mail System) or via this Forum (admin@genesisofthefree.com), and I will set up your login details for you. This helps me, as our Chief Librarian, to keep things organised and to make sure that all of our Kinship are using the same naming convention! Many thanks.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Forum!
