| Could I respectfully suggest you might wish to try one of the recognised well known search engines on the internet as a good starting point, I invariably find something of value............type in something along the lines of ATEX or DSEAR and that should enable you to trawl web-sites that will give you the templates you are seeking hopefully. |

General Category / General Discussion / sub-surface leachate irrigation |

| what is the likely impact on fugitive gas concentrations, notably methane and hydrogen sulphide, if dilute untreated leachate is returned directly via a series of sub-surface recirculation trenches onto the top of an old unregulated municipal land-fill site without geo-synthetic cap..............would I be correct in thinking fugitive gas concentrations are likely to increase dramatically either in the main body of the wastes or alternatively as an effective methanogenic zone in the sub - basel layers of the made ground. Can anyone recommend any technical papers that could throw some light on the subject and oblige? Many thanks. |

Hi
Does anyone have a 'template' type COSHH risk assessment that deals with the potential exposure to leachate and/ or methane gas to employees carrying out monitoring and maintenance activities such as gas monitoring, leachate pumping, methane stripping plant vessel cleaning, wells access, etc on closed landfill sites.
Any help appreciated. Thanks |

General Category / General Discussion / Pollutants Limit before discharging of treated leachate |

Hi,
I would like to know information of other countries about the limitation of each pollutant in treated leachate before discharge to environment.
Do they have any end-of pipe standards to control the discharge of treated leachate?
Thanks |

I am currently looking for a study on BAT for leachate treatment... or a study that confirms that evaporation is a BAT for leachate treatment.
can anyone help me?
thx,

General Category / General Discussion / BOD and NH4 concentrations |

Hello,
I need to design a leachate treatment plant to treat a young leachate but I have not a sample to know the concentrations of BOD and Nitrogen of the leachate. I know that these concentrations can vary from one site to another one, but can anyone say me if there are typical values for these parameters that I could put in the design's equations ?
Thanks !

| we were 6 weeks into the start up process of a new leachate plant and lost the biological process during a 22 hr power failure. The new SCADA system failed to alarm re the power failure . Does anybody have a mapped out process to start up the plant and the chemistry that should be happening |
